I’m not the first, and nor will I be the last to make that god-awful pun/joke thing. That said it’s WAR day, well at least it was yesterday because it’s taken me so long to get around to posting this. I feel like a small fraud in MMO terms by not having pre-ordered this, and been in the head start…or the BETA, etc, etc. But hey I’m here now in spirit, despite being homeless and the most shocking of laptops with it’s built in intel chipset of pooness.

WAR day 1 is going pretty much the same way that Age of Conan day one went for me, just in London rather than Leamington and without a gaming housemate to heckle me and for me to bitch at about the lameness that was the process of playing the game. However nothing will quite top the AoC experience of the UBER patch followed by it finishing 11minutes before the servers then went down for 12 hours or something insane like that…good times.

Right now I’m at a delightful 18% patch of the 1gb (ish) day one, I’m hoping to get it done this evening at least so I can get through character creation at the very least. That said, I’ve got a small feeling of dread that once I get it installed and booted up it won’t run on this built in graphics card. Thus instead of any actual game related comments you instead get the ministory of how I tried to play WAR but failed…

Also if anyone has any laptop recommendations happy to hear them, looking for something that can handle mild gaming not a Crysis machine here, portable so a 15.4″ not a 17″ and has at least some sort of battery life. Answers on a postcard below
